MAK Apothecary wanted to leverage a song lyric to promote its “Go Lay Down” herbal blend to Black workers in a firm, authentic way.

No Black child is unfamiliar with the words, “Go lay down!” from a parent or relative when stress or illness rears its ugly head, but this advice seems largely forgotten by grownups. So, in a world dominated by overwork as the secret to success, let’s pull the chorus of “Rest” by Half Alive and Samm Henshaw to remind people that rest—not just work—is the secret.
